The PNLab, Section for Psychology and Neuroscience, Placebo and Nocebo, Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, Aarhus University. We work closely together with the Danish Pain Research Center and the Department of Neurology, Aarhus University Hospital. We collaborate with leading pain and placebo laboratories at Imperial College London, UK, and the Program in Placebo Studies and Therapeutic Encounters, Harvard Medical School, US.

We investigate psychological and neurobiological mechanisms underlying chronic pain including pain in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimers disease and Parkinsons disease. We test the influence of placebo and nocebo effects across pharmacological treatments and non-pharmacological treatments including surgery, deep brain stimulation and music. We use a variety of techniques in our experimental studies including brain imaging, EEG, I-motions, Neuropsychological test and quantitative sensory testing.
