The Department of Neurology at Aarhus University Hospital is internationally acknowledged for its scientific and clinical contributions within all major aspects of neurological diseases. The department represents excellence in most areas of neurology and is dedicated to providing the highest degree of medical care, education and research in neurology. 

The department performs cutting edge treatment and research in cerebrovascular diseases, neuromuscular and movement disorders as well as in neuropathic pain. It also contributes significantly in other areas such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and dementia. The treatments include several advanced immune modulating treatments, vascular interventions as well as stimulation techniques. 

The department is very research active within most areas of clinical neurology with several publications in high-impact journals. The department participates in several international consortia such as the EU-IMI consortium.
