We are pleased to announce that Medical Student Daniel Frederiksen Nielsen has been awarded a Fully Funded PhD Scholarship.

Daniel Frederiksen Nielsen has been granted a fully funded PhD scholarship by the Faculty of Health, Aarhus University, in support of his PhD project:

Title: Early Life Adversity and Maturation of the Nucleus Accumbens During Critical Periods of Neurodevelopment
Supervisor: Associate Professor Rodrigo Grassi-Oliveira
About the project: This project studies how early life stress affects the development of the brain's reward center to understand mechanisms behind emotional challenges later in life.

The scholarship is part of the 4+4 scheme, allowing Daniel to commence his PhD studies one year into his master's program. He will complete the final portion of his master's degree while undertaking his PhD research.

Daniel has been affiliated with TNU for nearly two years, including his role as a Research Year Student for the 2023-2024 academic year.
