New Master's student in Klawonn Lab

Maria Vasconcelos joins Klawonn Lab as a Master's student from 1 September. Maria's project will investigate the mechanisms underlying immune-to-brain signalling in PD progression. Using an early human α-synuclein (ha-Syn) mouse model, the Klawonn group observed motor dysfunction, negative affective states, distinct microglial clusters, and an unreported T-cell subtype in the model. This Master’s project will build on these findings by characterizing the role of microglia and T-cell signalling in the early ha-Syn mouse model, employing techniques such as flow cytometry, microscopy, and antibody-interventions in vivo. Maria is a student at Copenhagen University. Welcome, Maria!
