A new article titled "How the Alzheimer's disease pathogenic receptor SORLA folds and dimerizes in the endosome to stabilize the retromer trafficking complex" has just been published in PNAS. The article is based on a collaboration between researchers from Aarhus University, Harvard Medical School, and Columbia University.
A new international research collaboration just received 20 million DKK to make a detailed mapping of the early changes that occur in neurons when the disease processes associated with Parkinson’s disease slowly accumulate. Their preliminary data strongly suggests such changes can be inhibited – and if proven correct raises hope for future disease-modifying treatments.
